Copy by John Byng (possibly the Hon. John Byng) from Edmund Malone's transcript with notes, from the only known copy of the 1600 edition, in the Bodleian Library. Preceding the copy is "Anecdotes of Will[ia]m Kemp" (leaves 3-4). A note by John Byng dated November 18, 1786 appears on leaf 6. Original edition, 1600 (STC (2nd ed.), 14923). Includes three engravings: engraving by Richard Barnaby Godfrey of Vinkenboom's painting belonging to Viscountess Fitzwilliams, showing Morris dancers. Published Jan. 1, 1779 by S. Hooper (before leaf 1); "A new mapp of the city of Norwich," with a letterpress description, engraved by John Hoyle (leaf 1v); "Wm. Kempe & Thomas Slye his Taberet ... engraved from the woodcut prefixed to Kempes nine daies wonder 4°: 1600" (leaf 8v).
